Service Technician - valves

This is a hybrid role involving the duties performed both by Service Techs and by Repair Center Techs. You will:
Deliver post-sale services at customer sites including installation, maintenance and repair of organization and third party products and services (e.g., performs teardown, diagnostic tests) to ensure that all function properly.
Respond to customer questions regarding operation and malfunction.
Test, troubleshoot and repair equipment and components in a repair center environment according to established quality procedures, including conducting tests to ensure that repaired products meet technical specifications.
Perform routine assignments.
Develop competence by performing structured work assignments.
Use existing procedures to solve routine or standard problems.
Receive instruction, guidance and direction from others.
A typical non-travel workday will run from 6 AM to 3 PM.
The ability to lead a team within a busy warehouse and distribution environment, whilst maintaining a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
Mechanical ability or aptitude.
The ability to:
Read blue prints.
Pass a federal background check.
Travel domestically and internationally 80% of the time.
Proficiency with measuring tools.
A team player mentality.
A safety-first mindset.
Solid experience with and a good working knowledge of oil & gas industry equipment and/or valves.
Experience handling large tools.
Knowledge of conducting API 6D hydrostatic testing.
Technology school certification.
Transportation Worker Information Card (TWIC).
Familiarity with control, gate and ball valves.
Manufacturing experience.
Operator qualification (OQ).
Regularly required to use hands to finger, handle or feel, reach with hands and arms and talk or hear.
Regularly required to lift and/or move objects weighing up to 50 lbs. and occasionally lift and/or move objects.
Frequently required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
Occasionally required to sit and climb or balance.
Specific vision abilities required for this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust and focus.
Shop conditions at the Jenks site are in line with SPX Flow EHS regulations and country legislative safety requirements with regards to safe walkways, shelving and general working areas. Cleanliness is of paramount importance to SPX Flow however from time to time, dust and general packing materials may accumulate. Noise can often be at levels that require hearing protection due to vehicle movements and general day to day activities in the nearby workshop. All PPE is provided for by the company.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
