The Collections Manager is responsible for development, guidance and managing a team of Collections Specialists. Ensures compliance with federal regulations, company policies and client requirements. Maximizes performance, satisfies company goals and department objectives of team. Operates with a high degree of integrity focused on achieving personal excellence and motivating team, as well. Partners with executive management, compliance and H.R. to drive business with focus on results, desired outcome and how best to achieve them.

Job Description:

  • Time management for the assigned team to ensure completion of daily tasks.

  • Reviews, update, and improve processes for efficiency.

  • Sets a positive example.

  • Leads by example.

  • Motivates employees and maintains a team environment.

  • Ensure all work is performed in compliance with Company / Client Policies as well as local, state and federal collections laws and regulations.

  • Follows up with direct on-going collector training to exceed expectations.

  • Must possess a through knowledge of and hold staff accountable to all Federal, State and local guidelines and laws.

  • Responsible for progressive discipline of infringements of company policies, procedures and/or standards.

  • Performs monthly performance evaluations of team.

  • Additional duties as assigned.

Requirements:This is a Supervisory Position and requires the ability to:

  • Working Hours:2 late nights (11am - 9PM), and three morning schedules per week. Every other Saturday and any additional hours as necessary to perform your administrative and management duties at a satisfactory level of performance. Generally, the position requires 50+ hours per week.

  • Education:Degree preferred. High School Diploma or GED required.

  • Experience:Minimum of 5 years as a collection manager is required in addition to a 2-year minimum requirement at a secondary management level.

  • Department of Education experience preferred.

  • Other Requirements: High Energy. Excellent verbal and written skills are required. Excel and other Office Products experience. The candidate must be able to motivate, train and discipline staff at all levels that may report to that position.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
